The car fiasco!
I have never been superstitious of Friday the 13th: that is ... until I got into a car accident on August 13, 2010.
It was a rather stupid mistake on my part, of course, dosing off at 7:30a.m. on my way to work at the bookstore.
I see the truck.
Now I don't.
I see the truck two inches away from my front bumper ... jerked the wheel to the right. BAM!
Two weeks and $4,000 worth of damages later, not including my $170 ticket for careless driving or my $35 4-hour online course., my car is in better condition than before the accident.
These days, I make sure to have a few cups of maxwell coffee before getting on the road.
